WHAT A GREAT SHOW!
February 16, 2019, The Wallaceburg and District Council for the Arts along with their sponsors: Kim Murray Desjardins Insurance, New Vision Optical and Riversite Realty; hosted a performance by Turbo Street Funk at the Jeanne Gordon Theatre.
What a great evening! The band Turbo Street Funk defied convention when recently performing to a full theatre in Wallaceburg. Turbo Street Funk thrilled the crowed with their infectious sounds of music and a performance style rooted in the New Orleans horn band tradition. Turbo Street Funk combined Top 40 hits with original music in a fabulous show that had people moving and dancing all night long.
Formed in 2011, Turbo Street Funk started as a professional busking band, performing on the streets of Toronto four days a week each spring and summer while members of the band attended university. The band received high praise from local journalists for their fresh sound and popularity with Toronto audiences.

Combining timeless melodies with a contemporary folk-rock twist, singer-songwriter Ben Caplan explores the immigrant experience with profound understanding and wry humor on his latest album, Old Stock. Caplan weaves a captivating concept album that reflects on modern issues through his darkly funny and urgently heartfelt songs. With his enormous beard, unruly mane, intimately booming voice and beguiling charm, Caplan brings a striking presence to the stage.
